Purpose of Position 

The Director of Client Services is responsible for building and scaling the infrastructure that supports investor relations in alignment with CREIT’s growth. This role is essential in fostering strong relationships with investors and capital partners while ensuring consistent, clear communication across internal teams and external stakeholders.

Requirements

  Investor Relations Operations

  • Serve as the primary relationship manager for onboarding new investors and operational contact for current investors, financial advisors, and institutional partners, including our external partner’s wholesale distribution operations team.
  • Manage and maintain relationships with custodial platforms such as Fidelity, Charles Schwab, and similar, as well as alternative investment data platforms such as iCapital, CAIS, and similar, ensuring seamless investor onboarding, transaction processing, and reporting integration across systems.
  • Oversee the investor lifecycle process, including KYC/AML, subscription documents, distributions, and redemptions.
  • Interface with the fund administrator to ensure all required subscription documents were collected during the onboarding of investors.
  • Collaborate with marketing and fundraising to produce and execute a comprehensive investor communication strategy, including investor reporting, pitch decks/slides, fund updates, FAQ’s, website, distribution notices, and performance summaries.
  • Manage and improve the investor reporting workflows to ensure timely, accurate, and consistent delivery (monthly/quarterly account statements, quarterly updates, NAV reporting, website, etc).
  • Oversee internal information flows between investments, finance, legal, and asset management teams to ensure accurate and timely responses to external stakeholders.
  • Maintain a baseline understanding of fund performance, portfolio activity, and market positioning to communicate effectively with investors.
  • Collaborate with legal and finance teams to ensure timely and compliant delivery with regulatory requests and fund documentation or tax document requirements.
  • Assess operational workflows, identify inefficiencies or gaps, and design scalable, documented procedures that enhance departmental performance, compliance, and cross-functional alignment.

Operational Due Diligence

  • Serve as the primary contact and own the due diligence process for 3rd party diligence firms, capital partners and prospective or current investors, including RFPs, DDQs, and ad hoc requests.
  • Maintain and update the firm’s due diligence library and data room.
  • Coordinate with internal departments to gather and validate operational, financial, and compliance data.

Leadership

  • Lead and manage a high-performing client services team.
  • Remain connected to operational trends of the investment management industry to position CIRE competitively with its peer group.
  • Identify and implement procedures to improve the investor operations platform.
  • Leverage technology, automations, and a global team to scale the team effectively, including managing and optimizing the use of third-party software platforms, custodial platforms, and alternative investment data platforms used for investor portals, data rooms, and reporting tools.

Position Requirements 

Position Competencies

  • Exceptional communication and relationship management skills.
  • Proven track record of project management skills and implementing initiatives.
  • Proven leadership experience and ability to work cross-functionally.

Work Experience Qualifications 

  • 8+ years of experience in investor relations, client services, or fund operations within real estate, private equity, or alternative asset class. Preferred experience working with RIA’s and/or UHNW investors.
  • Solid understanding of fund structures, investor reporting, and compliance requirements.
  • Proficiency with CRM and investor portal platforms (e.g., Juniper Square, Salesforce).

Working Conditions  

Environment

The primary working environment is an Indoor Office Setting utilizing a computer workstation and general office equipment. The position will sit at their workstation for a significant portion of the workday. Some positions may require travel to asset locations, and these sites will vary in nature. Employees are required to comply with all applicable safety provisions as posted on-site or as briefed by management. This includes the use of any required PPE specific to said location.

Physical Requirements 

The physical demands of the position are consistent with those of administrative or clerical work in an office setting, involving extended periods of sitting at a desk, using a computer for typing and data entry, and managing paperwork. It requires fine motor skills for operating a keyboard and mouse, as well as handling and organizing documentation, which may involve lifting, bending, and reaching. Employees also need to walk around the office for tasks such as delivering documents or attending meetings, and maintain good visual attention for prolonged periods, whether reading or engaging with screens.
